National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM), now in its 17th year, is recognized every October. The goal of NCSAM is to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and how everyone can contribute to proactive prevention of cyber crime.

Cybersecurity Month 2020

The theme of NCSAM 2020 is “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.” This year’s theme is meant to encourage personal responsibility for both individuals and organizations. The CISA and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), who promote NCSAM every year, encourage proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity efforts.

Each week of October, the CISA and NCSA will promote a specific message related to cybersecurity:

• Week of October 5 (Week 1): If You Connect It, Protect It
• Week of October 12 (Week 2): Securing Devices at Home and Work
• Week of October 19 (Week 3): Securing Internet-Connected Devices in Healthcare
• Week of October 26 (Week 4): The Future of Connected Devices
