Sometimes, what you need for your operations center isn’t anything you can purchase ready-made. Within the mission critical market, there can be unique spatial or equipment considerations that mean what your space requires isn’t easy to find. Custom design is often the best option for 24/7 spaces, and it’s not just about aesthetics.
At Constant, we have 5 lines of standard consoles purpose-built for the demands of a mission critical operations center. However, our clients often have particular needs that anything pre-designed simply can’t accommodate. That’s why we also offer fully customized console furniture.
“When a client comes to us with certain equipment integration needs or size requirements that don’t fall within our standard console specifications, we begin the process of designing a custom console,” said Ron Costa, Director of Console Operations. “The most common request is to reduce or increase the width or depth of a console to fit within their floor plan. Room constraints can often call for odd size consoles to fit within the space and we can adjust accordingly to make the plan work for them.” Other factors that can contribute to the need for a custom console are large pieces of equipment, cable intensive systems or cable separation needs that don’t fit with our standard offerings. We review these situations with our client and design in tandem with them to ensure every aspect of their requirements is covered.
Ways we accommodate custom equipment storage requests
As we approach a custom console design, our team carefully reviews all of the equipment specifications. We ensure proper sizing, cabling, and cooling are accounted for. When it comes to successful design, equipment layout and cable management are some of the most critical factors, and we take care to ensure the best possible solution is found.
Some examples of how we can incorporate custom equipment storage solutions include:
Adding technology cabinets to standard consoles, increasing equipment storage and cabling capacity
Racking mount equipment vertically at console ends to allow for more leg room, which increases the usable space and improves operator comfort
Adding a monitor lift system to accommodate a large quantity of monitors, all of which need to be ergonomically usable.
Creating space below modular video wall structure to store AV racks and other video wall driving equipment
These are a few examples of how we can create a custom equipment storage solution, but it’s by no means exhaustive. Whatever your need, Constant can help you meet it.
Not only do we customize based on your equipment storage needs, but we also take into account spatial considerations and preferred design aesthetics.
