As 2018 comes to a close, we reflect on what has been Constant’s busiest year yet. With numerous new hires and more projects than ever, our growth is consistent — a trend we expect to continue into next year.
Highlights from the past 12 months include:
Renovated HQ:
In the summer of 2018, Constant renovated their North Kingstown headquarters. In addition to aesthetic improvements, this renovation also included an expansion. This new space accommodates our recent growth and provides collaborative and client-facing spaces.
New Employees:
We’ve expanded the Constant staff in key departments. Based on recent growth we have added design engineers, AV technicians, and furniture installers to our team.
Media Features:
Constant received plenty of media attention in 2018, with articles featured in three publications over the course of the year.
The June issue of Systems Contractor News (SCN) ran a detailed feature on the Fleet Operations Center (FOC) that Constant installed for Carnival Cruise Lines.
Sound and Video Contractor also covered the Carnival Fleet Operations Center installation in a recent issue focusing on “modern command.”
Business in Focus’ September issue featured an in-depth story about Constant Technologies and our company philosophies.
In October, industry publication Commercial Integrator wrote a profile of our company as a featured integrator and company to follow.
Recognition Received:
2018 was a year of recognition for Constant, with special accolades from two major industry publications, Commercial Integrator and Systems Contractor News (SCN).
First, in Commercial Integrator’s August issue, Constant was named one of the 18 fastest-growing integration firms of the year for 2018.
Constant Technologies was also recognized as one of the Top 50 Integrators by Systems Contractor News for the third consecutive year. Part of an exclusive group in the highly competitive and growing audio-visual integration industry, Constant is honored to have been selected. Constant’s 2018 ranking rose 8 places from our 2017 placement on the list, a trend we expect to continue in the coming year.
Conference Attendance:
Over the course of the year Constant attended beneficial industry events around the country.
NeoCon: From June 11-13, Constant representatives attended NeoCon in Chicago, IL. With nearly 1 million square feet of exhibition space, NeoCon is the leading conference and exhibition for designers of commercial interiors in the United States. As experts in control room design and manufacturers of sleek command center furniture, the Constant team used this valuable opportunity to remain up-to-date on the latest industry trends and to foster valuable relationships in the furniture and design world.
InfoComm: AV industry group AVIXA hosted InfoComm from June 6-8 in Las Vegas, Nevada. InfoComm is the largest technology exhibition and conference in North America that focuses on the pro-AV industry. The expansive event granted the opportunity for Constant team members to meet with existing and potential vendors to learn about new product offerings for the latest and greatest in mission critical AV products for our video wall installations.
ZoomInfo: Sales and Marketing representatives from Constant attended the ZoomInfo Growth Acceleration Summit on June 18-20 in Boston. The event is a sales and marketing conference providing strategies for customer-focused growth in the B2B world.
Rhode Island AIA: Members of Constant’s design department attended the American Institute of Architects (AIA)’s Rhode Island chapter summer conference on July 24, 2018 in Bristol, RI. This meeting offered an opportunity for our NOC designers to participate in continuing education and to meet with architects in the New England area. The focus of this year’s meeting was resilience in design, which related well to Constant’s mission critical design focus.
Impact Live: Constant attended the Impact Live sales and marketing leadership conference in Hartford, CT from August 7 – 8. The Impact Live conference is an exclusive event limited to 500 attendees to provide tailored content and valuable networking opportunities. Though Constant has been a significant presence in the 24/7 command center industry for several decades, there is always more to learn and fresh ways to tell our story. Just as the world of video wall technology is always changing, so is the world of marketing. Constant is dedicated to staying on top of changes and industry trends, and attending this conference helped us to do so.
Video Wallapalooza: Video Wallapalooza is an annual touring event hosted by Planar, one of our valued video wall partners, that showcases the latest video wall technology including LCD video walls, 4K displays, and ultra-fine pitch LED video walls. Constant Technologies representatives attended the event when it stopped in Boston on September 24-25 to get an in-depth look at new technology products and services that we can implement to best serve our clients.
Critical Facilities Summit: Hosted in Nashville from October 14-16, the Critical Facilities Summit was specifically tailored to facilities professionals who are responsible for the design, management, and/or operations of mission critical buildings. In addition to informative sessions, the summit also featured an expo hall where Constant exhibited alongside other organizations that specialize in the mission critical industry.
Travel:
The dedicated Constant team frequently travels far and wide for command center installations, service, and training. With so many global operations center projects, 2018 necessitated travel to locations such as the Philippines, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Denmark, India, and the United Arab Emirates.
Partnerships:
As a mission critical AV integrator, Constant continues to enjoy partnerships with first-class companies such as Planar that provide a variety of technologies for our video wall installations. We only use products rated for 24/7 video wall use and benefit greatly from the partnerships we’ve formed with audiovisual manufacturers.
In addition, we continue to foster long-term partnerships with valued clients such as Aetna and new partnerships with clients such as Carnival.

As we close out this year, Constant looks forward to what 2019 brings. If it is anything like 2018 has been, we expect plenty of new projects, new clients, and new travels to keep us busy.
