Constant Technologies has worked hand in hand with Akamai in the development, design, integration and servicing of 6 global command centers including their Network Operations Command Centers (NOCC) and Security Operations Centers (SOC) which help them to monitor global network conditions.
Their most recent project was a build out for their Broadcast Operations Control Center (BOCC) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The BOCC enables Akamai to better support their over-the-top (OTT) video delivery to customers. Akamai CEO Thomas Leighton talked about the new control room in a recent interview:

Constant developed a turn-key solution for the BOCC including the broadcast consoles and display wall system. The ergonomic consoles are customized to the unique needs of the operators and are built for the demands of a 24/7 mission critical operations center.
The main focus of the broadcast operations center is an 8 wide x 3 high display wall comprised of 55” LCDs.This flexible video wall combines the industry’s thinnest profile ultra-narrow bezel LCD with improvements in design, installation and service. These displays have outstanding image quality, simplified installation and maintenance and 24×7 mission-critical reliability.
In addition to the processing, routing, control and video conferencing components, Constant integrated equipment to help Akamai monitor video quality. Constant’s team of designers, engineers, programmers, project managers and installers all came together to provide Akamai with a world class center and will continue to service and support the BOCC.
